From September 2026, PL6 Learning Hub will offer a structured weekly programme designed around small-group, calm and supportive learning, with clear pathways towards recognised qualifications.

GCSE Pathway – 10am–12pm

For learners working towards GCSE qualifications and requiring focused support in the core curriculum.

Tuesday: GCSE English Language & Literature
Wednesday: GCSE Mathematics
Thursday: GCSE Science

Teaching is delivered in small groups with a strong emphasis on confidence, engagement and preparation for formal qualifications.

Functional Skills Pathway – English & Maths

For learners working towards Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3 and Functional Skills Levels 1 and 2.

Monday: 1pm - 3pm
Wednesday: 1pm - 3pm

Each two-hour session combines English and Maths, with teaching tailored to the learner's current level and intended qualification.

PL6 is an Open Awards approved centre, enabling learners to work towards and sit recognised Functional Skills qualifications through the Hub.

Secondary Pathway

Small-group education for secondary-aged learners who may need an alternative to a traditional classroom environment, additional educational support or help rebuilding confidence and engagement.

Sessions available:

Monday: 10am–12pm
Tuesday: 1pm–3pm
Wednesday: 10am–12pm
Wednesday: 1pm–3pm
Thursday: 1pm–3pm
Friday: 1pm–3pm

The pathway supports core English and Maths alongside broader learning, confidence, independence and re-engagement.

Primary Pathway

Friday: 10am–12pm

A small, supportive weekly group for learners approximately 8–11 years old, focusing on English, Maths, confidence and maintaining a positive relationship with learning.

Examination Provision

PL6 also operates an approved examination provision for Open Awards Functional Skills English and Mathematics, including:

Entry Level 1 • Entry Level 2 • Entry Level 3 • Level 1 • Level 2

Dedicated examination sessions can be arranged separately from normal teaching sessions, with reasonable adjustments considered for learners with SEND and additional needs.
